It has indeed been a while since my last post on here, the Facebook page has had a few updates here and there. However there have been a few developments of late and here is the big one….I am now the mazer for my new actual meadery in Burgess Hill!

Over the past few months I took the leap and worked on getting my food hygiene level 2 cert, my personal Alcohol licence and then the licences to brew made-wine (mead) and beer. It took a lot of planning and a little back and forth but finally it has all come together.

The Meadery is called Sussex Craft Mead Co, and will over 3 meads to start off with, a traditional, a hopped mead and finally a tarte cherry mead.  I will be stocking these in my local Rugby club this Saturday for our annual dinner Dance Awards Night, I will of course be putting up some photo’s and reactions from that.

The branding was all done by myself but with some help from the focus group that are my team mates and their SO’s. I am happy with the way it has all turned out but the proof will be on Saturday and fingers crossed for that.

As you are now aware I’ve made a couple of changes but one thing that hasn’t changed is my love of brewing beer. Over the past few months, in between recipes for the mead I have brewed a few different styles. These include a maple milk choc stout, Pale ales and a cyser.
